Influenza Information

The season for influenza including the H1N1 strain is upon us and there are proven ways to fight off the infection that every family should remember.

The medical experts at Memorial Hospital of South Bend want you to do your best to stay well during this flu season. Here are some steps your family should take now to try to avoid serious illness later:

  1. Wash your hands 6-8 times per day.
  2. Get seasonal flu shot and H1N1 shot if you’re in a high risk group.
  3. Prepare your own personal flu protection kit including:
    hand sanitizer, mask, gloves, fever reducing medicine
  4. Cough and sneeze into your sleeve
  5. Avoid touching your eyes or mouth
  6. Avoid shaking hands
