Visitors and Parking
Free parking is available in the Bartlett and Lafayette Parking Garages (see hospital interior maps, third floor) for parents and grandparents while visiting your baby. Just ask a staff member in NICU to stamp your parking ticket each day.
As parents of a baby in the NICU, you are welcome to invite friends and relatives to visit the unit. In the interest of developmental needs of all babies, however, we have established guidelines that will enhance the comfort and safety as it relates to your child.
Because of the limited space that encircles your baby’s bed, we ask that no more than three people surround the bedside at one time. This allows your nurse to continue to have access to your child at all times. It also reduces the overall noise level in the NICU.
If friends and relatives are free of contagious diseases, they are welcome to visit during hospital visiting hours: 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. This allows you to participate in “bath time” and “quiet time” privately with your baby at the end of the day.
Remember that you as parents and grandparents are not visitors, but are a part of your baby’s “care team." You are welcome and encouraged to be here whenever possible.
