Father Leaves Legacy of Grateful Family

My father, Jose Alvarado, recently entered your hospital due to recent complications and his lifelong battle with diabetes. Having grown up in Mexico and eventually moving to the United States where he would not only raise 14 children, but also retire as a union steel worker, my father would see much happiness but also encountered many struggles during his life. He could not speak very good English, had both legs reconstructed and his eyesight was nearly diminished.

During his time at Memorial Hospital, he met with many doctors and was cared for by many nurses and patient care assistants. I wanted to write this letter to thank everyone who took great care of my father. Everyone was very nice, honest and supportive during his time at the hospital.

Although the end result for my father’s health does not come with a happy ending, I know that he was thankful (as all 14 of his children are) for all the care that he received at Memorial. The Alvarado Family, which is 65 people strong, thanks you from the bottom of our hearts. God bless.

Alfredo Alvarado
