Pelvic Health Rehabilitation

Incontinence; Pelvic Floor Pain and Dysfunction; and Prenatal and Postpartum Pregnancy

At Memorial, we are committed to providing compassionate care for your specific, personal health concerns.  If you are affected by women's or men's health issues, your first step should be to consult a physician about the most appropriate treatment options, and one of those treatment options recommended may be therapy.

Many times, therapy can be a highly effective alternative to more costly procedures or surgery.  At Memorial Outpatient Therapy Services, our specially trained & women's health certified therapists provide treatments in a caring, private environment to help you achieve your health goals.  We work closely with you and your physician to develop a treatment plan specifically designed to meet your individual needs.

Pelvic Floor Therapy

The pelvic floor is a group of muscles on the bottom of the pelvis that provide support for the pelvic organs, control bladder and bowel elimination and sexual function.  Like any muscle, they can become tight or weak.  Therapy can be used to strengthen muscles or retrain them for conditions such as:

  • Urinary or fecal incontinence
  • Pelvic pain/vulvodynia
  • Pain with intercourse
  • Pelvic organ prolapse
  • Surgery aftercare

Statistics show that therapy can be highly effective for these conditions.  For incontinence specifically, statistically 80% of the individuals who receive therapeutic treatment for incontinence either regain control or significantly improve control over their incontinence issues.

Pregnancy:  Prenatal and Postpartum Therapy

  • Lower back pain/SI joint pain
